There are very few films which leave me facially exhausted after grinning for 135 minutes, but this is one.

The Force Awakens re-awoke my love of the first movie and turned my inner fanboy into my outer fanboy.
My only tiny reservation, which I will get out of the way now, is with a tiny new droid who has a bit of a Scrappy-Doo vibe about him. The Force Awakens is in touch with the force of action-adventure and fun. It restores the comedy that Phantom Menace abandoned.

The show will include “beloved droid BB-8 alongside ace pilots, colorful new characters and appearances by fan favorites, including Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma, voiced by actors Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie.” Mostly, though, the series will focus on the adventures of young pilot Kazuda Xiono, who is recruited into the Resistance and given a top-secret mission that involves spying on the First Order (so, like a reverse Finn?). The show is set in the “uncharted timeframe” before “The Force Awakens,” and will thus include some familiar faces from the most recent entires in the cinematic franchise.
